The NSW State Championships where held at Mudgee Sporting Clays Range 12/O8/2017. The competition was held over 2 days with a 200-target competition Shooting from 40 different ring positions made it very interesting to all competitor,  With Slow Rabbits long rabbits, Crows, Battuies, Teal, Midis of towers a great mix of targets. Mudgee members were busy helping keep the 80 plus shooters with filing  traps, tallying up scores and suppling food. Shooters where from all over NSW with a few interstate shooters competing for prizes supplied by our generous sponsors.

 

Mudgee would like to thank all the Sponsors, Horsley Park Gun Shop, Safari Firearms, NSW Field & Game, Coast Wide Site Services, & all the Shooters who attended the Championships which made it great successful shoot and to the members of the Mudgee Sporting Clays Club who put a huge effort into running this prestige’s event.

 

The Overall winner for the weekend with High Gun was Jacob McKenzie with 182/200. Daniel Baskerville won AA Grade shooting 181/200, Stephen Payne was 1st in A Grade with 173/200, Paul Smidt won B Grade shooting 152/200 and C Grade was won by William Wright shooting 160/200. Veterans was won by Peter Kay 162/200; Super Veterans was won by Ross Christian 162/200. In a shoot off the ladies was won by Helen Overton 147/200 over Amy Buys. Matthew Wilesmith won juniors with 174/200 and Chris Koolbanis won Sub Juniors with 110/200.

 

Over all the weekend ran quite smoothly and any problems where quickly sorted out by the Mudgee members, some shooters saying that this was one of the best ranges shot in quite a while congratulations to the range setters .

 

The NSW State Team members were announced who will be representing NSW at the Australian Nationals in Geraldton in Western Australia in September 2017
